We believe strongly in the old adage that children are the future. This is why we are proud to sponsor organizations focused on providing support to young people. For the Northbridge group of companies, lending a hand to children’s charities is not simply a commitment of time or money; it represents an investment in our future.
The following are just a few of the organizations we are involved with.
The Hospital for Sick Children is one of the world’s leading hospitals devoted to children’s health. We are proud to provide support for multifaceted programs of national and international significance.
The B.C. Children’s Hospital provides expert care for seriously ill or injured newborns, children and adolescents. Our contributions help support valuable research into genetic disorders.
The Starlight Children’s Foundation is dedicated to brightening the lives of seriously ill children and their families by providing a broad array of both in-hospital and out patient programs designed to enhance their ability to cope with the stress of illness.
Reach for the Rainbow serves children and young adults with developmental and physical disabilities from across Ontario.
DAREarts (Discipline, Action and Responsibility in Education), was founded to help Canadian children find positive alternatives to negative influences in their communities through a five-year arts education program that complements the elementary school curriculum.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is an internationally recognized, non-competitive programme of voluntary activities that encourages personal discovery, self-reliance, perseverance, responsibility, and community service for young Canadians aged 14 to 25.
The Green Standards Waste to Wonder program collects used office furniture and IT equipment, redistributing it to those in need. Our contributions of computer equipment go to the ‘School in a Box’ project, which benefits schools that cannot afford computers.
Our support doesn’t end there. We are also involved with a vast array of other charitable organizations, including significant commitments that fund critical necessities in areas such as education, social services, food banks, poverty relief and healthcare.
In addition, we encourage and support the charitable efforts of our employees. When they donate, we make a dollar for dollar matching donation that doubles their generosity up to an annual maximum of $1,000 per employee.
